Vlad is a quiet guy around people he doesn't know. Besides being his coach, I was his interpreter and I was helping him off the field, and we pretty much hung around a lot when we were playing. I think Vlad got a lot of sense of humor and he's just shy around people.

I would rather have a guy hurt physically than be hurt mentally. When you're hurt mentally, you can't help that. When you're hurt physically, you can recover. It's just a matter of time when you recover physically. When you recover mentally you don't know when it's going to show up and you don't know when it's going to stay home.
