You always feel like he is about as far ahead as any catcher in the game. He knows the hitters, he knows what trends they have, so very rarely, will I even think twice about what Brad is putting down. It's really nice to not have to think out there.

When I got to the big leagues, I had been a starter my entire career... I had never pitched out of the bullpen. I feel really fortunate and blessed that I had him to learn from. He taught me everything I know to do for a routine, how he physically and mentally prepared for a game, the way he warmed up. I didn't have any idea what to do.

Any closer, if you pitch long enough, you're going to face some failure. He was able to bounce back from it as good as anybody. I hope the same is true for myself. I feel it will be. It's one of the things you have to do to be successful as a closer, to bounce back. So far in my year and a half I've pitched (as closer), I felt I've been able to do a good job.
