Eric is of a mind -- and we are, too -- that we're not going to put him in there until he's ready and pain-free. But I don't see us easing him in. I don't think Eric Gagne has ever eased into anything in his life.

I'm very impressed with the way we're swinging the bats and if we continue to do that, we'll win our share. We didn't quit when we fell behind. That's a very positive sign.

It's sticky. There are very few people who think he can't help our club, but is it the best thing for him? He's done a great job adjusting to the outfield, making all the plays, and I'm confident he can do other things defensively, like shortstop and first and third base. In left field, he looks like Dave Winfield.
