I have a little experience, but not much... I forgot everything from 1989. They told me just to be myself, and to forget about the statistics all that much, and talk about the game. Basically, I'm a manager in the booth.

In retrospect, I wish I could do that over again, I wouldn't make him the Opening Day starter. I don't think that's what caused him to struggle. Maybe he put a little bit too many expectations on himself. But that's something he should be able to overcome. [Control issues], that's what it is more than anything else.

The trick here for next year is the pitching... That's the trick. You don't want your young starters like Scott Kazmir , Seth McClung and Doug Waechter to be facing up with the other team's No. 1, 2 and 3 starters, like we've had to do it all year. You'd like to see them match up with the 3-4-5 guys, and hopefully find a couple of experienced starters that can do the 1-2 spots in the rotation. That should be tops on this organization's list. That should be the first and foremost consideration.
