To me, words and what's behind the words are what perpetuates the Jewish religion, as opposed to icons. To be able to see the Dead Sea Scrolls spoke very loudly to me of my faith and connection to Judaism.

This trip gave them confirmation, as well, why their faith is important to them. I respect them for that sentiment, even though our views are very different. Seeing the Christian sites gave me additional insight on their religious convictions.
