USDA needs to take a portion of the savings from the reduced CRP acreage payments and reallocate it toward incentive payments to CRP land that is put into no-till or ridge till. This will protect these fragile lands from further exploitation and erosion. This seems the best concept for leading CRP into a conservation-type program and continuing to funnel conservation payments to the present holders of expiring CRP contracts.
